In-home stretching · North Jersey
Stretching for sciatica discomfort and tight hips.
That nagging pull through your low back, glute, or down the back of your leg can make sitting, driving, and sleeping miserable. I come to your home and work gently around your hips, low back, and legs to help ease tension and get you moving more comfortably.
Who this is for
- A pulling or achy feeling through the glute or back of the leg that flares with sitting or driving
- Tight hips and hamstrings that never seem to loosen up on their own
- Low back stiffness in the morning or after a long day
- People who've seen a doctor or physical therapist and want ongoing, gentle movement support
- Anyone nervous about stretching the wrong way and making it worse
Why gentle beats forcing it
Sciatica-type discomfort is often sensitive. Cranking on a tight hamstring can irritate it more. I work slowly, pay attention to how your body responds, and adjust in the moment.
I look at how your hips, pelvis, low back, and breathing work together. Often the most relief comes from easing tension around the area, building a little stability, and helping your nervous system settle, not from stretching harder.
What a session looks like
- We talk. Where you feel it, when it started, what makes it better or worse, and what you've already tried.
- I look at how you move. Simple movements show me where you're stiff, where you're compensating, and what needs more support.
- Hands-on work. Assisted stretching, mobility, soft-tissue, and stability work chosen for you, with your comfort guiding the pressure and pace.
- A plan for between visits. A few simple things you'll actually do at home.
When to see a doctor first
I provide wellness and movement services, not medical care or physical therapy, and I don't diagnose sciatica or its cause. If your pain is new, severe, or getting worse, or comes with numbness, weakness in your leg, or any change in bladder or bowel control, please see a medical provider right away. I'm happy to work alongside your doctor or physical therapist.
