Stability and movement control.

Stability is the foundation of how I work, and often the missing piece. If you keep stretching and the same areas keep tightening up, your body may be asking for support, not more flexibility. I come to your home and help you build control through the range you already have, so everyday movement can feel steadier and more comfortable.

Who this is for

  • Joints that feel loose, unsteady, or give out
  • Tightness that keeps coming back no matter how much you stretch
  • Hypermobility, or being "too flexible" and still uncomfortable
  • Returning to activity after an injury, surgery, or a long break, once you're cleared
  • Older adults who want to feel steadier with balance and daily tasks
  • Runners, golfers, and lifters who want their body to hold up

Why tight muscles are often protecting you

A muscle often feels tight because it's protecting a joint that doesn't feel supported. Stretching it can feel good for an hour, but the guarding often comes back. Stability training teaches the muscles around your spine, hips, shoulders, and knees to work at the right time, so your body doesn't have to brace as much.

As control improves, moving often feels easier too. That's why my approach is stability first, mobility second, and movement always.

What stability training looks like with me

It isn't heavy weights or a boot-camp workout. It's slow, precise, one-on-one work, matched to how your body feels that day:

  • Breathing and deep core control, the base everything else builds on
  • Hip and shoulder-blade stability for the joints that take the most load
  • Balance and single-leg control for walking, stairs, and sport
  • Controlled strength through your full comfortable range, especially if you're hypermobile
  • Simple home drills that take minutes, not hours

Most sessions pair it with assisted stretching and gentle somatic work: first we help your body relax, then we teach it to hold the new range.

What a session looks like

  1. We talk. Where you feel it, when it started, what makes it better or worse, and what you've already tried.
  2. I look at how you move. Simple movements show me where you're stiff, where you're compensating, and what needs more support.
  3. Hands-on stretching and movement. Assisted stretching, gentle somatic work, and stability work chosen for you, with your comfort guiding the intensity and pace.
  4. A plan for between visits. A few simple things you'll actually do at home.

When to check with a doctor first

I provide wellness and movement services, not medical care or physical therapy. I don't diagnose or treat medical conditions, and I can't promise specific results. If you've had a recent injury or surgery, sudden joint swelling, or pain that's new, severe, or getting worse, please see a medical provider first. After surgery, I work with your surgeon's or rehab provider's clearance and guidance.
